Tended gardens, neatly trimmed hedges and manicured lawns encircle the Summer Palace at Peterhoff. As I strolled through the gardens, I tried to envision what it was like when the Russian Kings and Queen graced them with their courtly majesty.
When I came to this archway I lingered for awhile. The bright fall leaves, clinging with all their might, beckoned me to view their departing glory.

Living a sedentary life in Los Angeles, California, was not what Christine Rivers had in mind to do with her life.
