I was blessed enough to visit the Algarve in Southern Portugal. The weather was warm and sunny with only a few scattered clouds wistfully spreading out upon the sky. Even though the weather was idyllic, the scenery was breathtaking. Fossilized seashells could be found embedded in the midst of the sedimentary layers as high up as 60 feet (or more!). Clear water and eroded limestone cliffs created a feast for the senses, creating photo opportunities every few feet. Living a sedentary life in Los Angeles, California, was not what Christine Rivers had in mind to do with her life.
